Quick low down on a fab winter beach and forest walk for our guests – about 1-5 hours.
To add time to this walk – take blankets and sit on the beach, do a fish n chip supper there and sparklers for kids, or for more walking – venture further inland on footpaths before heading back to the car.
Head to Tanners Lane beach, which is toward Lymington from Gins. A 10 minute drive away.
You can walk for about a 3/4 mile on the foreshore and views are just fab’ over to the Isle of Wight and Hurst Castle out in the Solent.
There are some sandy parts of the beach, lots of tidal mudflats which host migrating birdlife and a great bridge for “poohsticks” (I googled how to spell it and apparently this is right) games for kids.
You can walk along the coastline for about 20 mins then back in land through a wonderful estate along quiet footpaths that will link you back toward your car.
